On 31 May 2023, WHO and public health champions around the world will come together to celebrate World No Tobacco Day (WNTD). This year’s theme is “Grow food, not tobacco.
The day is celebrated to spread awareness about the harms of tobacco use. In 1987, the World Health Assembly passed a resolution calling for 7 April 1988 to be a “a world no-smoking day.” Later in 1988, another resolution was passed, calling for the celebration of World No Tobacco Day, every year on 31 May.
